The long-awaited release date for the latest take on the Steven King classic films ‘IT’ has finally been announced. The release of this sequel has been long awaited by all IT and horror film fans and they finally have an answer. The date in question is the 6th of September 2019.
Some noticeable additions have been made to the casting for this edition, Bill Skarsgård keeps his role as Pennywise whilst the cast for the children are played as more mature older versions from the first film. Jessica Chatain is casted to play Beverly Marsh alongside a cast including James McAvoy, Bill Harder, James Ransone and more. The casting choices were made by director Andy Muschietti.
From what we know about the story line all the seven children have grown up and moved apart from one another until one ‘devastating’ phone call brings them back. This was all the exited fans got in terms of any sort of story lines and hints about the film. The plotline, however, might not shock many people as it follows a similar one to the second film in the older films.
Weather this film can live up to the expectations set by the classic 1960’s IT is another matter. And it won’t be easy to replicate that sort of attention or hype that the first edition of Steven King’s IT.
