By Harrison Matthews

Bodmin College brought the glitz of Broadway to Bodmin with their sell out production of the multi award winning Chicago!

Actors and staff were thrilled to become one of the first schools in the South West to stage the new schools edition of one of the most iconic musicals of all time. Inspired by the jazz music from the 1920s, Bodmin College musicians and actors wowed audiences with their delivering of iconic songs such as All That Jazz and Razzle Dazzle and their powerful insight into the lives of the murderesses of the Cook County Jail.

So many of the cast shone in different ways, but in particular, audiences were wowed by the stars of the show Shannon Done who played Valema Kelly, Ruby Lovelock and Tegan Steen who brought the house down during their numbers in their respective roles of Roxie Hart and Matron ‘Mama’ Morton.

Director of Music Benji Vincent said; “We have seen some amazing amounts of talent and putting a cast together has been so, so hard. You are all stars!”

Harrison who played The Judge said; “It was an amazing performance and being in the show is something I am never going to forget. I did not want the show to end as everyone was so great to work, I even cried on the last night.
